The University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business will hold its annual conference on Tuesday, December 6, from 11:30 a.m. - 3:45 p.m., with state and national political and economic experts.
The EOC will explore South Carolina’s strong economic recovery post-COVID and the United States’ response to the highest levels of inflation in more than 40 years.
Looking ahead, speakers will provide an outlook for jobs, housing and business conditions. The event will be interactive and will include several opportunities for Q&A.

- Felicia Rhue Howard (‘85 UofSC electrical and computer engineering, ‘91 Professional MBA), VP of Economic Development Strategy for Dominion Energy
- Barbara Melvin, President and CEO of South Carolina Ports
- Daniel Rickenmann (‘92 UofSC political science), currently serving as the Mayor of Columbia, South Carolina
- Joey Von Nessen (‘09 Ph.D. in economics), Research Economist at the Darla Moore School of Business
- Doug Woodward, Director of Research at the Darla Moore School of Business
This event is the preeminent economic outlook conference in South Carolina and draws more than 300 business, government and academic leaders. In addition to the conference, the event attracts significant exposure through media coverage. With much debate surrounding the current state of the economy, this year’s outlook is expected to draw substantial interest.
